Emerging Futurists Symposium

2012 Emerging Futurists Symposium
Friday, November 30, 2012

Futures Studies has few, if any, gatherings tailored for graduatestudents. We envision this symposium as an opportunity for nascent futurists to share their work, discuss issues in the field, and network with other up and coming futurists.

What attributes will future(s) futurists need as the 21st century progresses? What emerging issues will shape the future(s)? What are the futures of Futures? Will the dawn of big data make futurists’ job easier or will they go the way of the dodo? Can predictive analytics find a place within scenario modeling across various time horizons (30, 50, 100+ years)? Will emerging futurists need to emphasize quantitative methods more than qualitative ones as more accurate and precise data sets become available?

To submit an article or panel proposal for the 2012 Emerging Futurists Symposium, please visit our Request to Participate Form.

The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2012.
